The BHPMS has been included on The Joint Commission's list of acceptable vendors for the ORYX® initiative since its inception. NRI has been an active participant with NAPHS, NASMHPD, and The Joint Commission in the development of the HBIPS Core Measure Set since 2004.

Inpatient Consumer Survey (ICS) endorsed by NQF and crosswalked to the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Application

NRI's Inpatient Consumer Survey (ICS) is a 28-item self-administered survey to capture the voice of the consumer. In 2010, five patient-reported outcome measures were submitted to NQF, and endorsed under the Patient Outcomes Phase 3 Project, as scientifically sound and meaningful measures of quality of care. NRI submitted materials for a second cycle of endorsements through the Patient and Family Engagement project, and showed the ICS has six valid patient-report outcome measures.

NRI, working collaboratively with the ANCC, created a crosswalk of 19 questions from the Inpatient Consumer Survey to eight of the nine patient satisfaction categories delineated in the Exemplary Professional Practice standard EP23EO of the 2014 Magnet® Application Manual. This crosswalk was approved by ANCC in March 2017.
